These terms apply when you use selg.co.uk and when you donate, join the group, book or buy through it. The website is run by the South East Locomotive Group (“SELG”, “we”, “us”), a volunteer-run group. By using the website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
How we handle your personal information is explained in our privacy policy.
You are welcome to use the website for your own, non-commercial purposes. Please do not try to disrupt it, gain access to parts of it that are not meant for you, or use it in any way that is unlawful. The sign-in areas are for authorised volunteers only.
We may change or remove content, or suspend the website, at any time.
The text, design and photographs on this website belong to SELG or, where credited, to the photographer or author. You may view and print pages for your own use. If you would like to use anything else, including photographs, please ask us first.
The news archive and articles come from the group’s earlier website and publications, and some are many years old. They are kept as a historical record and may be out of date.
We try to keep the information on the website accurate, but events, dates, prices and availability can change. Please check with us or the Spa Valley Railway before travelling for an event.
Donations, memberships, bookings and orders are paid for by card on SumUp’s payment page. Prices are in pounds sterling and are the prices shown when you pay. A payment is confirmed when SumUp confirms it, and the page you return to afterwards shows the result.
If a payment was taken in error, or something does not look right, please contact us as soon as you can:
Donations are voluntary and go towards keeping 33063 and 33065 in working order. Online donations are one-off; nothing recurring is set up. If you believe a donation was made by mistake, please contact the Treasurer as soon as you can.
The membership levels, their prices and what each includes are shown on the Donate or Join Us page, and they can change. Membership you buy online runs for the period shown when you join. Some levels carry further terms, such as ongoing dues, which are set out on that page.
Days depend on availability and on the locomotive and the Spa Valley Railway being able to run them. When your payment is confirmed your chosen date is reserved, and our Driver Experience team will contact you to confirm the arrangements for the day. If a day cannot go ahead we will contact you to agree what happens next.
Limits and conditions apply to the day, including for additional guests, as noted on the Drive a Loco page. Everyone taking part must follow the instructions of our team and the railway at all times.
Items are supplied by post or for collection, as shown when you order. Where an item says its price includes postage, no further postage is charged. Prices and availability can change, and the catalogue includes older items. If we cannot supply something you have ordered, we will contact you. These terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
The website links to other sites, including those of the Spa Valley Railway and other preservation groups. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
The website is provided as it is by a volunteer-run group. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website, or from it being unavailable.
We may update these terms. The version on this page, with the date at the top, is the one that applies when you use the website.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
